Alarm Help - Maybe someone here is knowledgable?

I had this alarm installed a week ago and have been fighting with it every since, I let Circuit City install it. First complaint after having my truck nearly 6 hours you would have thought they could have done it neater and cleaner than they did. They mounted my 'sensor' to my windshield top left corner ???? and the LED on the drivers side instead of somewhere where it could be seen from anywhere around the truck.

But my biggest gripe is you know you pull up park and hit the door lock switch as you are getting out, and don't set the alarm like running in somewhere quickly. Well with this POS alarm which has keyless entry it will not unlock the truck when you press the button on thy remote? I took it back and they said it was 'normal' that it would not unlock my truck when using the factory key FOB, is this correct? If not could an intaller instruct me as to what to ask them to fix please?

thats normal.. mine does the same thing.

its apart of the factory alarm. I dont know if you can deactivate it.

Normal if I lock it factory style that the new alarm will not let me in?

I can't comment on your alarm specifically, but I have heard people say say the same thing about several alarms. I have a DEI Valet remote start on my truck, which uses the factory FOBs. I've been looking to replace it with an alarm w/ remote start, but leary because of issues (such as yours) with alarms that you cannot use the factory FOB with.

that is correct.

(not sure about mazdas) but i know if i lock the doors with the switch my parkinglights flash. That is the factory 'alarm' being activated.

Try this. Get into your truck and lock the doors and close the door like you would if you are going to the store. Wait about 10 seconds and push the unlock button. Its not going to unlock for you (just like it does for the remote). That is because the unlock trgger for the alarm is wired into the switch (not the phisical switch itself but the wires for the switch after it gets inside the truck). That is why it does what it does.

if you have an aftermarket fob, use the aftermarket fob. thats what it was designed to do

Thats what I do, but sometimes as a human I forget and lock my truck using the lock/unlock button in the truck and when I do it doesn't work properly with the aftermarket FOB

I know almost nothing so I can't offer any assistance, but I still don't understand your situation. Are you accidentally using the Ford FOB instead of the aftermarket FOB?

no, he is hitting the lock button inside the truck before closing the door

FORZDA 11-18-2006 09:36 AM

The original FOBS are gone. I am still accidently hitting the key lock button inside our trucks as i exit. LOL Its no biggie just frustrating that it doesnt work properly.

disconnect the wire(s) inside the door pannel to the lock button

the door should still lock fine but without a ground or relay the button will no longer function....maybe?

Not sure, Circuit ****ty is stumped and says there isnt a bypass switch and say they can only refund half my money since the alarm deal is 199 installed meaning the alarm is actually 100 bucks plus 90 installed and I wasnt told this upfront.

I had to leave before I got arrested for foul language.

I understand why you are frustrated but its not circuit citys fault..
