My buddy has the factory radio and is hooking up an amp to run 2 10" subs

His radio doesnt have rca jacks on the back what does he need to do so it will work?

He cut the ends from the rca cables and hooked them into the back speakers in the doors but it is a loud deep bass souns with no music coming from them

 

the best way to do it is to buy a converter box that taps into the speaker wires....i've seen and used them a couple times.

 

i would also buy the converter box, that or a new radio with sub controls and outputs

 

converter box & a 4 channel amp for the door speakers......then take the converter box and use the front 2 speaker wire pairs to send signal to the box. then daisy chain the 2 amps together with the RCA cables.....

 

I'd personally go with an aftermarket radio with rca jacks. makes things so much easier. check around crutchfield.com There are some really good units on there and they are at a decent price. Plus, crutchfield sends you the mounting bracket and wiring harness for free when you buy from them.

 

not everybody wants an aftermarket radio.....a lot of people like the looks/style of their factory radio...
