As long as you can solder and plug stuff in you should be fine.

you dont necessarily need to solder, i used those little red connectors..i think they are called butt connectors. but hey it works.. and you dont need the removal tools for the old deck. me and my buddy just pulled the whole bezel off and then pressed the tabs and it popped right out.

Those SOSCHE kits at walmart are cheapie looking/feeling/constructed and can be ripped right out of the dash.

Even the free kit that comes with headunits you buy from crutchfield.com are better made.

The install is easy. If you haven't done one before I reccomend buying from crutchfield if you buy online because it will come with instructions and everything you need (harness, dash kit, removal tool). If you still cant figure it out they also have free install support over the phone IIRC. People like to claim it's a ripoff because they can get a non manufacture warrantied one with no install kit for 20% less elsewhere.

My SOSCHE kit feels pretty secure I think. Maybe that's just because I had to cram my double din in there to get it to fit in the first place.

I would also recomend ordering from Crutchfield. All of the stuff they give you makes up for the lil extra you pay. They give you step by step instructions not only for the HU but for the speakers too. I only live 45mins away from the headquarters and ordered my stuff at 4:00pm on a Thursday and had it at my door by 12:00pm Friday.

Its really easy ive done them before and our trucks are by far one of the easiest ive ever worked on. I could switch headunits in a matter of 20 minutes.

haha, possibly.

Not all the scosche kits from walmart felt that way to me but the one I got for my truck was less than satisfactory.
