HELP with 2003 svt focus subwoofer audio installation!! wiring diagram needed too!
i know, i know, it's not a ranger, but i'm desparate for help, and the focus forums i've joined are pretty much useless.
i have a 2003 svt focus, with the 9006 audiophile headunit and OEM outboard amplifier and 8" subwoofer in the rear hatch area.
i have left the stock headunit to leave everything looking OEM, and installed a rockford fosgate 3sixty.2 sound processor. i have succesfully interfaced it to the 4 speaker channels, but i'm struggling with the subwoofer channel.
the audiophile headunit has 3 harnessses coming from it... one is for the 4 speakers (8 wire harness), the second has power, ground ,12v switched, etc.
the 3rd harness has subwoofer wires and steering wheel control wires. i can't figure out which wires to use to interface the subwoofer signal into the 3sixty, and i don't know if the signal wires coming from the headunit are low level or high level.
from what i've read on other forums, there appears to be 4 wires related to the amplifier... a white/red stripe (remote turn on), white/black stripe (sub signal +), gray/black stripe (sub signal -) and brown/yellow (shield).
i'm currently using the white/black and gray/black to interface into the 3sixty high level sub +/- inputs, but the signal is VERY weak. i've also tried using the brown/yellow as negative and seem to get the same results.
i'm not sure what to do with the 3 wires, if i should leave one hanging and just use two, or even which one is which for sure. a wiring diagram would be HUGELY helpful!
ANY help any of you gurus can offer would be really appreciated!
