Antenna wire trouble

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but I figured it would be my last hope before I'm forced to bring my ranger to the shop. I have a 2000 ranger, 2 wheel drive and a few months ago, I noticed that my antenna mast kept getting lose so I decided to tighten it with a tiny wrench. I guess a tiny bit was too much because the antenna snapped right off with the threads still inside. I figured this would be an easy fix, went to the store and picked up a new antenna and wire with everything I needed.

However, no one ever told me when you take out the old wire, you need to tie a string to it so the new one can be pulled right back through. After countless hours of trying to find ways of putting the new wire in I am at a loss. Being a young girl trying to figure this out on my own, is there something I'm missing? I'm getting tired of playing the same cd's over and over again lol If anyone has any advice it would be great, thank you!

If you can't find a way to get the wire to go back in its original location, you could always run it through the firewall elsewhere and get it to the radio.

From what I looked up, it said that there should be a few pre-cut holes in the fire wall with grommets ready in them. However, I looked everywhere they said there should some and could not find a single one. Anyone know if this is true?
