problems with my cd player
i have the stock 2004 cd/mp3/tape radio in my truck and over the past few months its been acting up and if i listen to a cd for a while it stops working and on the screen it says ERROR 17 and it ejects the cd. no big deal just put the cd back in and it would work again. but now that doesnt work i tried putting in new cds, old cds, burned cds, that ERROR 17 pops up. it only does it with regular cds, mp3's it will play fine. does anybody know what ERROR 17 means or what the problem might be.
i think it might be time to go alpine

9 out of 10 times the Ford CD6s go bad because someone used paper labels on their homemade CDs. This WILL destroy the mechanism, as will "scratch guard" coatings and rings. Use a permanent marker only.
If you don't believe me, page through your owners manual, to the end of the stereo section. Theres about 2/5ths of a page devoted to this little gem.
