You could build it cheaper then what it cost for it plus shipping.

you couldn't build that for $37..........shoot a sheet of 3/4" MDF board is right at $20, then add the carpet at $10-$20 a yard, then the glue at $8 a tube, the caulking to seal the inside joints at $8, the glue for the carpet at $12-$20 a can, box of screws to do it at about $10, and the labor you put into it......

so lets look at this:

-$20 for a sheet of MDF
-$24 for 2 yards of carpet (because 1 yard wont cut it and you will mess up)
-$8 for liquid nail
-$8 for silicone
-$12 for a can of 3M material glue
-$10 for a box of screws
-1.5 hour labor to build it.....

that totals $82 for just material....

lol... there's no way in hell that box is worth anything close to $82 + labor.

plus.... you don't need a full 4x8 sheet of mdf to build that small of a box (i have shoe boxes bigger than that box, lol)

also, garunteed they didnt use screws. for that small of a box, and after proper gluing, screws would not be needed.

$8 for a tube of liquid nails and silicon seems steep... although i dont know the price since i just pick it up and go anyways.

theres plenty of fabric spray that will hold that carpet quite well, so skip on the 12 dollar name brand.

but anyways... i wouldnt even pay the $37 or whatever they're asking for regardless of what the materials may cost.

id still rather build my own and be near the same price range.

My last box cost me

Custom plans- $30
Wood-$23
Glue-$8 (the best stuff on the shelf)
Caulk- $6 (two tubes)
Screws- $6
Carpet- $6

And that doesn't include my assembly hours worth, gas to go get supplies, etc etc. I'd say $37 for that box is worth it, if for anything to test how well it is built.
