In dash touch screen fitment

I have an 07 ranger on order so I don't actually have it yet. Soon after i get it I am planning on replacing the stock head unti with an Alpine touch screen in dash dvd player and ipod adaptor ( IVA-D100 ) I've noticed that the stereo sits slightly further into the dash than the vents above it. I know the screen will block the vents but will it hit them at all? Is there anyone with an in dash screen that can chime in? I'm pretty sure it will work fine but just wanted to confirm before buying. Does anyone else have this particluar unit? I like a lot of the features compared to other brands around the same price but any feedback obviously helps.

probably have a fitment issue with the screen hitting the vents. All you have to do is put a spacer in the back or adjust a lil. There are some people on here that have em.

I have an 02 ranger with a flip out touch screen and it clears the vents just fine... Some screens have an "angle" control to where you can change the angle of the screen which also helps out.

On my Clarion 7", it clears just fine. The angle option loses a setting or two because it can't go back all the way due to the vents. I'd advise getting a non-flip out unit so you can still use your center vents for A/C & Heat and stuff. You can still use them with the flip out but keep in mind you'll be blowing a bunch of cold air on your unit or blowing hot air on it and it may damage your screen. Or you could do like I do and just use my defrost rather than my vents.

i have a clarion as well, and its sits out enough to clear the vents, but yeah, you lose the tilt back angle

and get a radio bezel that has shutoffs for the center vents, not sure what years came with them, but my old 99 had them, and so does my sport trac
