Audiobahn?????

Ok, I have gotten mixed reviews about audiobahn equipment.

I really like the looks of the amps and subs but I need a good performing setup as well as a good looking system.

What does everyone think about them?

I don't use their subs, but their amps kick ***! They usually deliver more power than they are rated.

I've had an audiobahn sub and amp before and hated em both. My sisters boyfriend has an audiobahn sub and amp in his acura TL and he loves it and it sounds great. So I guess its like everything, some people like, some people hate. Personally I won't buy any from my past experience but as for him he loves it.

basically... with audiobahn you have to buy the higher dollar equipment or you wont get the quality that you're looking for. if you buy the less expensive subs, they WILL blow fairly quickly. somewhere around 6 months to a year. but the more expensive equipment is very good.

I would stay away from the subs...I understand the bling factor..lets move on...Unless you are going to mount your subs basket out and are going to be a show type truck..Find something else..Alot out there better and cheaper..Same as for the amps..yes I have a 2200 in my f150 for show puposes..I have a cut through into the bed..If I had to do it it over I would have stayed away from A-bahn..They are over rated and do not put out what they are supposed to...I can't say enough about the Elemental designs 9.1 I have in the Ranger..It is waaaayy more powerfull that i was expecting and NEVER gets even slightly warm..Look around ..read alot ..there are plenty of other companies out there..

Don't buy audio equipment off looks. That's rule #1.

Definitely agree with Cory, Audiobahn's lower end is not worth it. I've never trusted their midrange, but their higher end subs aren't bad. Just be sure to shop around first before commiting. Name your price range and what you're looking for and you'll get many recommendations from this board alone.

I've personally used a 12" audiobahn sub (Dub 1200) it was loud enough. Rated for 750 watts RMS, fed it 1000 and kept the gain at about 40-50%. It would rattle anything not bolted down, and made the plastic trim go nuts. I've gotten a few comments from people inside the house while I was in the driveway...

I have an Audiobahn 8000T amp rated at 800 watts RMS running a Kicker L5 12. it pushes out plenty of power and runs the sub great. i metered the amp last week and it was pushing out around 890 watts RMS on the meter. that is almost 100 watts RMS more than the amp was rated at. I like them because they all have cooling fans in them and they look really good and perform GREAT!!

Yes this truck is going to be used for show purposes as well as used to rattle the shop walls on occasion :)

I have to have something that looks awesome and sounds good as well. I am ready to spend a chunk of money on this but don't want to have a great looking system that doesn't even begin to perform worth a crap.

I like that MT18 sub but don't know if I will have the room for it.

i have a Audiobahn A4004T sub amp pushing 1 12" and a Audiobahn A1004DP amp playing out Audiobahn ABC5002Q component speakers on front and Infinity Kappa 572.5cf at the rear. The system has great sound quality even at high volume. Very pleased with my setup. Amps works, Perform, and sounds great. I donít have outrages bass that the whole block can fell. Just good bass that I can fell and hear in the truck. I just have to say is just read up and know what you exactly what to get and know what its going to perform for you. Like 02-black-edge said...

I have always had Audiobahn equipment except for one JL setup with two 12" W6's. My current Audiobahn setup out hit's my old JL setup. I have the Audiobahn 18001DT 1800watt amp right now with 1 15" Audiobahn Flame Q and no system around here touches it. A buddy of mine had 2 W7's and barely even kept up with mine. Although I built my box around specs that I measured out by resonance and different structure measurements given by Chris at Audiobahn, regular boxes make them sound great too. JL Audio sounds good, no doubt, but I'm beginning to think that they are a bit over rated. A few of my friends have them and paid way too much for the amount of bass those things put out. I have had my current setup for more than 2 years and have NEVER had a problem out of either the sub or amp. Audiobahn is the way to go if you plan on going with their higher end products.

I was waiting to hear what you had to say Pete lol

Like I have said, I would like to hear some good alternatives then if Audiobahn is garbage.

So far, Kicker Solo's are the only other suggestion.

Oh yeah, The plan is to go with the good stuff. But I just want to make an educated decision on the before dropping another 2 grand on this project. I will be building my own box for this so it will sound good with whatever I go with.

what size were the W7's and what was pushing them? were they ported or sealed? what upgrades to your electrical system were done? Audiobahn is the same as Digital Audio, swiss audio, alphasonic, so you decide. the build quality isnt as high as other manufacturers and their rated power is somewhat overrated. do what you want, but if its gonna be a "show" vehicle then JL or Image Dynamics or Kicker will get the judges to give better points based off brand alone.

The W7's were being push by a 1100 watt Class D Directed amp. My only current electrical modifications are a 200 AMP alternator, a Tsunami 10.0 Farad capacitor, and 1/0 gauge street wires kit.

Oh yea, and it was a ported JL enclosure.

audiobahn is very overrated...ever see a bench test of one of their amps??? It's rediculous how inefficient and low power those amps are. They are very unstable too. (this is all taken from caraudio.com)

as far as my experience with kicker, they are awesome, the only reason I don't run em is that I love low bass, the kicker just wasn't doing it. Any box I put it in...wasn't up to par. Type r's, thye are low level leakers...pretty good if you ask me.

orion amps are good...IMO
i'm picking up a power acoustik a3000db only because of the price. 2300wrms (benched) for 299 w/ a full warranty. Thats pretty good...they are not effiecent at all, but whatever
kicker amps are way underrated
JL amps are good, but you pay for the name (just get an orion)
audiobahn, are way over rated, pay for the name (sometimes)

my experience with audiobahn subs, they are not up to par...i installed 2 setups with them, they "sucked" IMO

two words...resonant engineering..ever heard an MT (yea me either ) I hear a ton of good about them.

ascendent audio

memphis mojo (if you can touch one...they are hard to find IIRC)

TC uber...omg sex sex sex (i'm almost drooling)

Just to start the list...audiobahn IMO and most peoples that are educated in car audio is GARBAGE...their product is made for "show" and not "go". Amps and subs are over rated, they don't have very good output or SQ (i heard they are all "spl")

I mean have you ever seen (at a comp) someone with audiobahn pull a good number off a limited system. Like a 50 out of 1 15 and 2500 watts or something (like it could handle that anyways)

MT's and SoloX's are pretty good for SPL...low tuned boxes are OK for a DD (they will rock your sox)

Your going to laugh, but try the type r...i'm serious, in the right enclosure, they ****. Pick up an 8" port and build a box to specs (I can help if needed) and **** away. Throw 2500w RMS at em, they are solid. I only got 1000 on mine and if you haven't seen my vid, it's on streetfire. I wanna put like 2300RMS on mine, that would be nice (PA A3000DB)

well if your buddy had 2W7's off of a 1100D what was his final ohm load? that could be your answer right there. because if he had it at a 1.5ohm load to an amp that is most effecient at 1 ohm. then throw in a crappy electrical system you are lookin at 800-900rms for two subs that need 1500rms+ for them to really be at good potential.

All design no performance.
