Aux input stock stereo

Ok a quick search didn't help much so I'm looking for a final clarification.

From what I've heard radios from 05 up are different connector wise.

I want what the 07-08s have, the aux 3.5mm input.

So the questions:

Are the connectors different?
if not, can I throw an 08 ranger radio in my truck and the 3.5mm input?

If they are different, am I SOL? I'm not using it with an ipod so the ipod adapters are out, I'm using it with my phone that has a 3.5mm out.

my 07 has the cd6 6 disk changer in it, there is a 20 pin plug on the back, which goes directly to the aux in, it only uses 5 of the pins, and i have no idea what 5 pins it is, that it uses... or what they connect to on the plug, as it's only a 3 conductor plug...

a lot of information on our radios can be found on this page, which i found looking for something else

I wouldn't mind getting a newer factory unit just to have the mp3 in. I hate the look of aftermarket stereos.
