Well tried it with a switch and it does the same thing. When I turn the ground off it goes to the error screen about not driving and watching movies. Idfk! Haha

Ahh got it!! Sneaky bastard lol. When you input a background from a flash drive and set the background while you're in the USB mode it defaults to the pic you saved for a custom background instead of showing what's on the USB or DVD. Haha got it! Too lazy to put the relay back in :p

plus the switch might be a good thing to have...

me and a friend or two and/or my gf drive to cali every month almost. and we always watch movies. if theres ever any chance the officer questions whether we were watching a movie while driving i can just flip the switch and show him that it certainly does not function whilst traveling down the interstate :)

There ya go. I'm picking an iPad up next week, just need to figure out how to mount it in the truck now. 10" screen ftw!

Theres a few akward swivel mounts for the ipad in car, kind of weird but it does get the job done quickly.

Yeah I saw them. Might go with a pro-clip mount, I love their quality.

I’ll ask, iPad big, almost clumsy for the car, where wil you mount it so you can get to it ?

Also, in order to use the iPad, you need a subscription to a phone service right, how much and is it the same as an iPhone ?

Um no and no. Its almost the same exact width as my f150 bezel so the fit should be perfect, idgaf if its not anyway lol.

No you don't need a subscription to it, thats only if you get the 3G version. I can use my iPhone like a wireless hotspot so I can get internet to it that way if I really wanted too. It'll be more for navigation (built in GPS) or watching movies. I won't have it in there all the time, more just for road trips only.

The service for it is $30 a month though if you do get a 3G version, I'm just getting the Wi-fi version though.

does the same for anything that required the bypass mod (viewing pictures etc)

any ideas? do i need to recheck my bypass mod?

i figured it was the sort of thing that either works, or doesnt. but maybe im wrong. dunno lol.
Notes from the Peanut Gallery:

Not sure if you solved your problem but here is what I found:

Searching the Internet for this EXACT same problem. Same head unit with same issue (using bypass) - SOLUTION FOUND...

Problem is not the bypass or HU at all. Prolly did what I did and played with your settings after checking to see if the video worked after installing the bypass. If you select one of the animated backgrounds it will not allow video to play. Go in, change background to non-animation, then TADA! Should be good to go... Took me 6 hours to figure it out.

yeah i figured out the same thing. if you're in the video mode and select a background it will show that instead of whatever media you're trying to watch/look at
