Recent buy of 2004 , extended cab, 4 doors. Those of you that own one, you also have a huge blind spot on the passenger side. The tall passenger seat sits squarely in the view of the right rear door window. Because of the position of my seat, movement of the passenger seat does little to eliminate this blind spot. I have installed the small convex "blind spot" mirror in hopes that it would work. I can make it work, but in doing so I really lose the proper positioning of the large mirror for highway traffic. I am now considering a backup camera, but I'm not sure that will help. When I am parked between vehicles, there is no way to see oncoming traffic on my right. I'm interested in hearing any other solutions and if you are using a backup camera, does it help or solve the problem? If nothing else, maybe a backup camera will assist me to back into all parking spots!!

 

Go to a Glass shop and see if they can get full size convex mirror to replace stock mirror
Or wrecking yard with outline/size if your stock mirror in hand, many vehicles(trucks) came with full size convex mirrors on passenger side

rear view cameras are not too expensive but you do need space in the cab for the screen to view it on.
I like the Rear view mirror display for backup camera, slightly larger than stock rear view mirror but more natural to look in that location when backing up, also more expensive, lol.

If you do decide to use a camera then use wired only, wireless is for temporary use, you won't be happy long term

 

Thanks iTrader. I have seen those camer/backup mirrow screens on line, but the viewing area appears quite small.. If you have one, how do you like it?

Had one on an RV and it was fine
Think about the size of any of the mirrors and the information your eyes can get from them, so no the image in rear view mirror is not too small.
Not sure what extra info you would get from larger image.

If you were trying to read a book laying behind the truck then yes it would be too small, but you WOULD see the book laying there, so you wouldn't run over it, lol.

Google search for new cars/trucks that have these and then go to a dealer and see what they look like.

If you are thinking of getting a new Radio unit then you can get these that have the displays for cameras, larger screen.

And I have seen people mounting larger screens on Visors, flip it down when backing up
