box idea
 

i want to run 2 12 inch L7 subs. i figured out the box dims and volume and it will have 6.72 cubic feet of volume for the subs. heres the pic i drew up on paint. its not good i know, but its a ruff idea. i also dont no how to resize the pic so if someone can do that for me id appriciate it.
2 subs on each side and a port in the middle which will blow the air between the seats of my truck.
what do you all think?

You need to get bass box pro v6.

Generally as long as you can't see the subwoofers when you look into the ports you're fine. Now, Where to point the port is another question. I would contact Strider0O0 or w/e it is. He knows a thing or two about where to aim the ports in a SC

you generally not suppose to have a port on the angled part of the box. if you shop around you would notice that all ported boxes are square, i was going to build a box like that for my 2 12" t5 tarantulas and a friend who owns a soundshop said if i do that, that port will kill bass

how will a port kill bass?

i just want to be able to have my seat to recline a lil bit so im not sitting at a 90 degree angle like and old geezer. thats why i wanted my box to have a slope.

its all about air movement, where ports are located and how they are angled is very important . have you considered just going with a closed/sealed box?

i dont like sealed boxes. they are like day and night compared to a ported box.

Yeah I like the sealed boxes. Generally you want angles in a sealed box to knock down some of the standing waves (waves that reflect back to the cone and distort sound)and I suppose you don't those standing waves diminished in a ported box, you want them to be able to exit through the porthole.

port location isn't necessarily as important as the SIZE of the port (width, length, etc.). MECP reccomends a port be at least 3 inches away from the sub.

My port in my single cab exits to the side. Plenty of bass. Doesn't really matter where it points.

right now i have 1 10 inch sub that is facing the passenger side extended cab door with the port facing the same way. sounds good buy i want it to be crazy loud.

And yes, it kinda does matter which direction you point it to, if you point a subwoofer into a corner you can get up to +18dB or even more if you're lucky, but only at certain frequencies. I would reccomend running it out of either side of the box.

ok if i ran the port out of the side of the box, how much space do i need to keep between the port and the door?

ive got about 9-10 inches between the side of my cab and the end of the port

where can i get that at?

HHAAHA i just built this same box last weekend. My measurements were off tho. We built it 161/2 by 40 by 12 1/2 in the front and like 19 in the back. Needless to say it didnt fit. Did your box come out good?can you tilt the seatback? I know exactly what you mean about the 90 degrees. O and i boilt a sealed box, my subs were going to face the ground too. (dunno if yours were.)

i built a box like that but i was only 32 inches long (from the drverside wall to where the driveshaft hump ends

im making an external port that goes under the passenger jump seat and fires at the same angle as the sub into the passenger seat
from what i know the only reason people dont do slotted ports on a box with angles is becasue it makes it alot harder to do the slot port
id sujest using aero ports for what you want to do .. alot easier
just make sure you have enough depth for them to fit and still have alteast 4 inches to the back wall

well apparently this thread is dead but i just finished my new box last night. Hits like my dad after a bottle of jack.. haha. Oh and Bpolly 2004 the back height is gonna put your box 10" above the bottom of your rear window. I cut mine at I think 20" because there was 21 1/2" from the hump to the window. Came out flush with the window.
