I can't use it yet. It's been taken over...

Good thing I didn't put any polyfill in there yet, or she would snooze there all the time...

What's the thing called that is in the shape of a cylinder and has a hole in the center of it for the cats??? Anyway, just put your subwoofer in there instead. The cat will never get into your stuff again ;)

Mnemonic 10-28-2004 11:08 PM

Sub is in the box now. Used Polyfill.
Box is spray painted black temporarily until I decide the proper covering.
Drilled holes for the wires and used polyurethane glue to seal around each wire. Silicon on the inside.

Letting it dry overnight, soo tempting to try it now.

Got the 1/0 gauge ran back to a JL Audio distribution box. Running a pair of 4 guage to the sub amp (about 1 foot long each) so it should suck my battery pretty good.
Ran 4 gauge to the 4 channel amplifier.
All grounds ran. 1/0 gauge ground for the sub and 4 gauge for the 4 channel amp.

Drilling a hole big enough for 1/0 gauge in the firewall was fun. Didn't have a drill bit big enough to fit my cordless drill. Luckily my dad had a dremel I could borrow. Awesome tool, but boy does it get hot!

Dremels also are good for removing chunks of skin when the bit grabs and jerks the tool.

Had to ground down some wire terminals so they would fit on the amp. MTX was kinda silly to make an amp that produces over 800 watts RMS power, but the terminals have to be forced to accept 4 gauge wire. And I have two 4 gauge wires for power and a 1/0 gauge wire chopped down a bit for the ground. (Will replace with a 2 gauge eventually with a better crimp/terminal on it)

Found out that ground copper makes my skin break out. Was sitting in a bunch of copper dust when my leg started itching. 5 minutes later is was on fire. Must be allergic.

Remote wire ran to two switches mounted in the little cubby hole under the A/C controls. Also mounted my external gain controller there too. Pretty well concealed and easy to reach. Glows red when turned on.

Each amp on it's own switch.

Amps are getting power and turning on, just gotta hook up the speaker wire.

Amps mounted on the jump seats. I don't care if nobody can sit on them anymore, because there will be a box back there anyway. Well one is still available, just has a little heater underneath... :)

Gonna use my head unit's internal amplifier until sometime next week. I need to buy some 12 gauge speaker wire and some good quality crimp fittings to complete the job.

God bless Ford for getting rid of the stupid torx bolts on the seats in 2004. Uses a plain 11/16 hex bolt now.

Anyway, that's what I've been doing for the past two nights. I'm beat, but tommorrow I'll be thumpin.

Sorry for the long post, but it's been a long night... :)
