CarPC Tablet Install

Looks good so far!
The noise could be from the rca's not being connected to the meter. Kinda like if you have your amps powered up & disconnect the rca you get noise.
The USB noise issue is probably due to the charger itself. Most of them don't have much if any good filtering in them to prevent noise from migrating into stuff.
Then again, it could be the ipod feeding back noise too.

Ok... small update.
The tablet will no longer be part of the stereo, it will basically be used for GPS and truck gauges (using the Torque app and a bluetooth OBD2 reader)
Music/Stereo will remain from my ipod connected to THIS stereo:
Kenwood KIV-BT901 Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com
I bought it today. It will replace the EQ.
Here's what I gain from this:
-single din will fill the space left by the half din
-simplify music syncing by remain from my ipod, rather than adding a device to sync.
-I also couldn't find a music app for Android I liked that I could sync reliably with itunes
-I am ditching the rear speakers. The rear RCAs will go to the VU meters instead.
-All digital connections to the stereo, using the ipod cable instead of 3.5mm jack from the tablet.
I will also have a complete system even while I procrastinate doing anything with the tablet. DON'T WORRY. When it gets warm, the center console and tablet will still be going in. Keep in mind, in will not be tied into the stereo system in any way. More of a diagnostic center with GPS and wifi. I will wire the dock up to an external speaker (like a CB speaker) for GPS voice from the tablet.
