carpet removal/door wiring access

Can anybody help me get speaker wires from my doors, to the back middle of the cab where my crossovers and amp are located?

I cant get the driver seat out because there are 2 bolts that wont budge for anything.

I also need the power wire to come strait down the middleof the cab. Is there anyone who can say something that might help me? Im trying to figure it and really I just need help on actually starting the carpet to get it peeled back and getting int the door wiring. I only have the plastic door panel off because im not sure how tough it would be to get the other door panel off.

Only way to get wires into the door is through the hinge side where the power to the window go to. It would be better to run the power wire under the door trim...you will have to break a few holding pins so the wire will fit.

you need air tools or a really long breaker bar to get those off.

run wires from the crossovers to the dash. Connect them to the factory speaker wires that would otherwise connect to the factory deck. Mount your woofer in the factory speaker location. Mount your tweeters on the dash.

yhea get fatty brake bar
... just go get thick ovc pipe that fits around the wrench you r using..
haha itd be funny to see you like 12 feet out of your car w/ a big pvc pipe hahah
ofcourse cut it down lol

and if the power wires are 1/0... you can run em under the truck
and up through one of the drain plugs
thats what i did.. you just have to make sure to shield it good enough
i personaly dont go offroading so im not worried about it hitting on stuff.

I ran my 1/0 power wire along the transmission tunnel. It took some finangling to get it to fit right and lay flat, but it can be done.

And for a breaker bar, I picked up a small length of pipe about 3 feet long that fit over the end of my 1/2" rachet. It was like $4 from home depot.

Thanks to stealth edge who posted this pic for me in the other thread, I did pretty much the same thing. However I was trying to ask a specific question but it was hard to communicate what I wanted to know so I drew on the pic.

Im trying to find out if its safe to drill in that hump right where I put the 3 red dots? I looked under the truck but its just really hard to tell. And does anyone know the best grounding location back there? Besides that Ive figured every thing else out and thanks for all the help.

i did and i didnt hit anything

zabeard 03-09-2007 11:35 AM

the seats are not that hard to remove.

impact should get them out

04blackedge 03-09-2007 11:43 AM

I didnt even have to use a impact or a breaker bar, just a 10 in rachet and it came right out with a little effort.

bwester04 03-09-2007 12:10 PM

yeah get up under the truck and spray the bolts with WD40 or such, will help some. But they shouldnt be THAT hard to get out.

Gearhead61 03-09-2007 12:31 PM

Yeah I didn't have that much trouble pulling the seats either. That hump ought to be alright, but could you perhaps just come up through one of the body plugs or drain plugs in the floor?

bryce-man 03-10-2007 05:23 PM

yeah the plugs work great
as i stated up above
lol
and as for that hump.. if you pull up the carpet right there you have about 5 or 6 inches b4 you hit any thing so go ahead and drill away

zcradic 03-13-2007 01:26 PM

Thanks for the help everyone. I just decided to run the powerwire along the driver side and the speakerwire on the left so I didn't have to remove the driver seat. I will put in probably one nice 10 inch sub later so my amprack is just temporary.
