All the new vehicles have a balanced audio system some are great. i am looking for ideas on how to enhance the audio in my truck. i don't want killer loud bass just enough. Comparable to the new ford edge, expeditions and flex systems. I dont want my rear seating takin up. post pictures and links of what i should get or idea and thoughts on this.

Current Set Up
Kicker DS68 Speakers
Kenwood DDX7017

Budget set at $800 for audio

A single 8 in a custom box? i mean i dont know how much space you really want to use up but one 8 doesnt take to much.

Sundown sa-8 D4(I can get you one for like $120)

Amp for it:

Wiring:
http://cgi.ebay.com/KnuKonceptz-Blue...item5ae19845fe

Put the sub in a .6ft^3 box tuned to like 35hz and place it when your jack is.

IMO basslinks are garbage - again just my opinion.

The SA-8s are bad ***! - The JL W3 is a strong sub, and not a bad deal. The real questions is how much space are you willing to part with? For instance I have a reg cab and have 95% funtion of my seats(im also 5'8" so im not loosing much).

Perfect. PM the_Answer on here and he can design you a box. All you would have to do is cut/build it. You could do it in a few hours.

I'm running a JL XD 200/2 bridged to a JL 8w3v3 in a JL CP108LG box. Amp is under drivers seat and box is behind drivers seat. It's in a 2011 regular cab. Only loose one seat notch which is fine for me at 5' 10" tall.

You can call me crazy but I'm just fine with my factory system.... the 290W Pioneer system with the sub in the console.

Never been a big fan of aftermarket systems.. I just lean towards the upgraded OE ones. My Mazda has the 10-speaker Bose system and it sounds great too!

Those Mazda Bose systems are perfect! My buddy just bought a 3 with one and there is nothing like a good sounding stock system.

If you are willing to lose one of your jump seats and the jack cover and jack this will sit perfectly on the little ledge and it sounds great. I love mine. But

sound deaden the truck. single 8 or 10. about 300 watts is plenty for a nice sounding bass. what do you listen to? possibly amp for speakers if they are in need of improved sound quality. maybe a nice set of component speakers.

If you look at the one picture of this sub, it shows very little space behind it and it looks like it's almost touching the other side of the cavity.

How much space is needed between the sub and the opposite wall of the box?

that part doesn't move, i'm not sure you really need any space.
