deeper bass?

so i currently have one ten in a ported box, and im looking to upgrade. my only knock on it is that its not very deep. so i guess is there a ten out there that goes deep or do i need to upgrade to a 12? Also any suggestions on a good sub, i already have a nice amp so im set there.

The bigger the box, the deeper the bass, but there will be less response or "punch" to it. Also, you do not want to make the box too big, or you could blow your speaker. So yes, a 10 can be deep, but you should also look at the frequency range that the speaker has, as this is a big factor too (obviously). If best buy carries the speaker this is something they will list. Also, I noticed a really good Alpine head unit makes a huge difference. My Alpine has so many controls for the bass so I can make it however I want.

It's all in the design of the box. You can make just about any sub go "deep" given the proper box.

What do you call reasonable? I like the Alpine subs and JL makes good stuff too.
