Dynamat Extreme

How much Dynamat Extreme is needed to silence door rattle in a supercab? Would the 10x10 inch speaker kit be enough for an above average system? It seems that if it wasn't enough they wouldn't sell it. I understand to soundproof the cab, which I'm not, you're looking at maximum coverage.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Peel and Seal. Dynamat is a rip off.

rngprerunner 01-10-2005 08:03 PM

Where can you buy Peel and Seal?

FoMoCoFiddy 01-10-2005 08:04 PM

Home depot.

Mnemonic 01-10-2005 08:59 PM

Leo, you gotta help me find this stuff because the Lowe's and Home Depot's in Plano and Mckinney think I'm a nut for asking for this stuff.

Dave and Julie 01-10-2005 09:20 PM

I've bought it at lowe's a bunch of times. You can find it on the web too I bet.

FoMoCoFiddy 01-10-2005 09:43 PM

Michael, ill go back and look, i need some too now. I had to take the back panel off.. It rattled BAD!

aftermarket 01-10-2005 10:15 PM

Yeah, let me know what its called and what section its in, I have a Home Depot in my neighborhood and I'll check it out once it you can get me that info.

Skyjacker_44 01-10-2005 10:23 PM

i also want some of this stuff but have no lowes or home depo any where near me

Mnemonic 01-11-2005 02:10 AM

Does it come in a roll or a stack of squares? Any colors on the packaging I can look for? I've looked on the shelves and in the overstock, but still no luck. Oh well I'll keep checking.

Dave, I've found it online, just would rather not pay shipping, because it's probably more than local tax, at least because I want ALOT of it.

Figure about 150-200 sq. foot to adequately do the entire cab? I've got pennies that dance in my cupholders at times, so everything else rattles. Plus that annoying wind noise from the mirrors.

ranger024x4 01-11-2005 02:19 AM

while yall are talkin aobut this stuff, im still tring to figure out how to take off the stupid door panals lol

JeepBoy258 01-11-2005 03:34 AM

i used a ton of sheets and cut as needed to cover my doors, fllorboard, back wall, and ceiling...

i used dynamat extreme, but now wish i had used something less expensive...

How much does peel and seal run at home depot or lowes?

And i thought most people only did behind the door panels. I never thought around the entire cab. Intresting...

Dynamat is anywhere from 6-10 bucks a square foot.
Peel and seal is around 1 dollar a square foot.

i work at lowes and i've never heard of it before....

i'll do some searching today at work though..

I have personally bought several rolls at Lowe's in the roofing section of the store. I believe it is 12 inches by 25 feet and costs around $13.

What a rip off. $39? I can get the same thing at Lowe's for $13 or 50 cents a sq foot. And it comes in the same 1 foot size, just like the roofing material. How coincidental.

V8 Level II 02-03-2005 07:52 AM

The current price at Lowe's is around a $1/sq ft for Peel n Seal. It's about $13 for a 6" by 25' roll.

Trevelyn1015 02-03-2005 07:59 AM

i used dynamat extreme to cover my entire interior, and ended up spending over $300.00 in the end...(i think... it was like 2+ years ago)

it wasn't a waste, in my opinion, because i am happy with the results and there is no odor, like there is with regular dynamat...

some of the stuff at lowes and home depot is probably just as good. i just didn't know about it back then... i wish i hadn't spent what i had, but its over...

oh yeah, and i got it for like 10% above cost, cuz i had a buddy that worked at a sound shop... normally it would have been alot more..

You're right, it was 6 inches.
