Can't load, eject, or play CD's after memory wipe in stock CD player

Hello all,

I have a '04 Ranger FX4 LvLII with a stock radio and 6CD player, shown here:

I recently replaced my battery. When that happened, I had CD's sitting in all 6 slots of my player.

The battery change wiped out the memory of the CD player and now it thinks that there are no CD's loaded in any of the slots. That's bad because it won't let me eject, play, or load new CD's! So my CD player has become completely useless, all because of a new battery. I've dug around in the menu's, looking for some kind of reset but can't find anything.

There's gotta be a simple way to fix this. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

The CD6 is known to have its disc drive fail. There is a place to send to fix them, but last time I checked it was a couple hundred bucks. I just bought a new CD player

But it was working perfectly right up until the minute my battery died. Now it doesn't realize there are any CD's in there since the memory got wiped. I'm not sure I would call that a failure. More of a glitch.

Are you getting a load error message?

remove the headunit, then remove the security screws from the outer cover.. you should be able to remove the cds from the unit.

Yep. If I press CD or eject it says no CD. If I press load it says load error. Haven't pulled it out yet because I don't know how.

That's the messages I had. You'll have to send it off to get fixed or get a new one
