Factory Amp bypass?

Is it possible to bypass the factory amp in my '97 with Premium sound without having to run new wires?

The reason i am asking is, I got a CD6/mp3 unit coming out of an '07 Ranger.....i am almost certain that it has a better amp built into the CD6 than the factory amp does in my truck.......

could i just unplug the plugs on both sides of the amp and attach them together and just jump the amp? or is it more involved?

asx being an installer where i do this everyday all factory amps blow donkey nuts unless you have aquired a bmw harmon kardon amp and speakers or a mach 460 system which are the best 2 systems factory systems you can have but since i know nothing and your a jackass ill just keep my mouth shut and let you do all that work to aquire the same sound as you did before you started

hmmmm 1997 amp vs. a 2007 amp..........worn out vs. hardly used.....i am sure the factory amp IN the CD6/mp3 player is much better than the factory premium sound amp that came stock in my truck...

and you remember that...

the only difference between the two is probably the dust that covers the amp and the dust that shoots outta your penis

lifted97ranger 07-10-2007 12:27 PM

so you are saying that amp technology hasn't changed? you should know better...

2003stealthedge 07-10-2007 12:30 PM

from ford? Hell effin no wut r u crazy

lifted97ranger 07-10-2007 12:33 PM

so Ford's technology hasn't changed? i don't think they offered Satellite radio/navigation/CD6/mp3 players/Pioneer Radios/subwoofers/SOHC 4.0's in ANY of their vehicles in '97.....come on use your noggin.....that is what it is there for...

2003stealthedge 07-10-2007 12:37 PM

doesnt make a difference the power output is still the same you could add all the bells and whistles to a radio and still have the same power output

2003stealthedge 07-10-2007 12:38 PM

u should go post this question on the12volt.com and see how many people laugh

lifted97ranger 07-10-2007 12:43 PM

even the F-150 is rated at more watts than a Rangers radio....adding a F-150 radio and deleting the factory amp would improve the sound quality...

2003stealthedge 07-10-2007 12:54 PM

where r u getting these numbers from id love to see them cuz everytime ive done a ford at work there all the same radios

from what i have read (RPS and other Ranger sites) upgrading to a F-150 radio gives you a better internal amp......everything is the same except for the internal amp.....because the F-150 has bigger speakers...

2003stealthedge 07-10-2007 01:01 PM

no they dont they all have the same crappy 6x8's EXCEPT the older f150s last body style some of them came with factory components in a 6x8 shell with a 5inch speaker and a tweeter in one but still had the same radio when u find legit numbers that say what u just told me ill give up this argument

lifted97ranger 07-10-2007 01:09 PM

the F-150's i was talking about was the '97-'03 body styles.......not the newer body styles since their radios wont bolt into a ranger....

were do you get your info from?

2003stealthedge 07-10-2007 08:10 PM

i have schematics of every car, audio, etc at work but our computers wont let us copy and paste stuff
