Factory Amp bypass?

Is it possible to bypass the factory amp in my '97 with Premium sound without having to run new wires?

The reason i am asking is, I got a CD6/mp3 unit coming out of an '07 Ranger.....i am almost certain that it has a better amp built into the CD6 than the factory amp does in my truck.......

could i just unplug the plugs on both sides of the amp and attach them together and just jump the amp? or is it more involved?

hmmmm 1997 amp vs. a 2007 amp..........worn out vs. hardly used.....i am sure the factory amp IN the CD6/mp3 player is much better than the factory premium sound amp that came stock in my truck...

so Ford's technology hasn't changed? i don't think they offered Satellite radio/navigation/CD6/mp3 players/Pioneer Radios/subwoofers/SOHC 4.0's in ANY of their vehicles in '97.....come on use your noggin.....that is what it is there for...

doesnt make a difference the power output is still the same you could add all the bells and whistles to a radio and still have the same power output

even the F-150 is rated at more watts than a Rangers radio....adding a F-150 radio and deleting the factory amp would improve the sound quality...

from what i have read (RPS and other Ranger sites) upgrading to a F-150 radio gives you a better internal amp......everything is the same except for the internal amp.....because the F-150 has bigger speakers...

no they dont they all have the same crappy 6x8's EXCEPT the older f150s last body style some of them came with factory components in a 6x8 shell with a 5inch speaker and a tweeter in one but still had the same radio when u find legit numbers that say what u just told me ill give up this argument

the F-150's i was talking about was the '97-'03 body styles.......not the newer body styles since their radios wont bolt into a ranger....

were do you get your info from?
