Stereo install question....

Hey guys.

I just had my stereo installed last week and am now wanting to remove my driver side jump seat to make some more room for my sub box. However the ground wire from the amp is grounded to one of the jump seats' bolts. Is it safe to remove the bolt / ground - then the jump seat and then ground the amp again?

Basically i want to know if it will hurt anything to 'un' ground my amp for a period of time while i remove the jump seat without disconnecting the battery?

I don't think it will hurt anything, but wanted to make sure.

Thanks a lot!

Just unplug the negative battery cable for precautions and don't have the system on and you'll be fine.

it won't hurt anything to disconnect the ground then reconnect it again. Trust me there's nothing to worry about. I've had my ground and power cables touch eachother many times with sparks flying all over the car and nothing has ever happened to my amp. Disconnecting ground is nothing.
