CB where to mount

i've got a 87 single cab ranger with a (broken) bench seat. my toolbox has a cb antenna mount and i've always wanted to put one in this truck but cant figure out where to mount the damn thing. the roof would be nice but i dont need holes in my roof.

any suggestions would be awesome.

here you go,
i used a pice of 1/8"x2"x3 ft aluminium from lows then measured the distance from the first visor bracket to the bend in the roof, the length of the downward part of the roof, the lenght of the center and then reapeat for the other side, add all those together to get the overall length, then to make the bends to contour around the headliner i took a hacksaw at the point of the bend and cut about 1/4 to 1/2 way into the aluminum and then bent it, repeat for all the bends and then make the holes for each screw on each side and the dowels on the visor bracket, then i found where i wanted the cb to sit and marked and drilled the holes for the cb bracket, then i riveted the cb bracket to the aluminum mount. any ?'s lemme know

took the photos with my phone at night so some of the pics arent very good. and by buying the 3ft pice of aluminum it allowed for at least one screw up cause when you bend it you have to be carful not to bend to far too fast or it will break

So get a cb like this and you can pretty much mount it anywhere.

In my ’88 Ranger I built a small overhead console to mount my UNIDEN Pro 520.
Ran the Coax on top of the Headliner to the 3rd Brake Light and out on the lower side of it.
Mounted my Antenna on the Sport Bar and tuned it.
No Pics because the ’88 has been gone now for eight years. (rest in peace).

The 1st gen Ranger have a lot of room, under the dash, overhead, get the CB within arms reach and nail it.

Maybe since the Bench Seat is broken you could replace the seats with bucket and a console and mount to the front of the console where my new one will be as soon as I get the new seats and console in.

Someone did a write on using a piece of aluminum under the back of the console as a mounting point but you could reverse that and mount to the front of the console.

Just thinking out loud, sorry if none of this helps but just trying to get ya think’n.

Here are shots of my install, it is an old superstar 120 from the 80's. My Dad made the mount from and extra piece of stainless steel he had.
