cd changer to stock headunit
Does anyone have one of the ford cd changers hooked up to their stock head units? I would like to do this so I could have green illumination all around again cuz my blue aiwa ruins my interior lighting scheme.
What does the cable look like to hook the changer to the head unit, and where can i get this?
any pics would be awesome!!!

Do you mean the indash cd-changers or an external one? I would just buy a indash changer instead of trying to hook one up.
I may be wrong but if you are trying to use a headunit from a ranger i don't think you can hook a ford cd changer to it b/c the cd changers rangers came with is in dash.

Mine looks similar to that but Ford used several different models that looked almost identical. Most that I've seen from that era were made by Clarion or Panasonic. Some had a round plug at the changer and some square like that one in the photo. All you should need to operate the changer is fused constant power, chassis ground and an 8-conductor harness to connect the changer to the 20-pin socket.

your best bet is to find the older body expedition cuz they came stock with 6-12 disc changers in the center console and those radios from expeditions will also fit from the 02-below only few explorers had them cuz most of them came stock with cd players and the aux input on the front or back will not work because the wiring harness transferred the sounds. I know what im talking about cuz ive yanked so many of these things out for customers when they get a new radio. Look for the expeditions youll find it first time in the center console and its ran under the console to the carpet directly to the radio
