Hifonics amps anyone?

Is anyone using any Hifonics amps?

Back in the day (before some of you were born) I remember a lot of people were running Hifonics amps for competition setups, but I never remember anyone I knew using them in their every day vehicles.

I ran across the Zeus, Brutus & Titan series of amps online & they claim to put out more watts per dollar than the old California Profile amps.

Looking at:
This

This

This

and This

My current 15" 4ohm sub can handle about 650 watts of continuous real power & I've only been feeding it about 200 watts. I'm leaning towards the Zeus ZXi 6010 or Brutus BXi 1020D for the power & wired remote bass control.

If money were no object I'd probably grab a MTX Terminator or Jackhammer or a Rockford Fosgate Power series amp.

How do the Hifonics amps hold up?
Any overheating issues?
Build quality?
Power output?

Nothing wrong with any of the Maxxsonics brands amps, they are all great amps for the money.

I cant say about the build quality of Hifonics amps today, but I have a small Hifonics amp and a crossover that I bought about 22 years ago and they are still working today, back in the day they
were one of the best out there...period. very good, clean power output.

Good to hear someone else hangs onto old stuff too.

I had an original Punch75 Rockford amp I bought in about 1989 & just sold it a year or so ago. It worked as well as the day I bought it.

With so many new brands & companies going under & selling their names to no-name knockoffs I was wondering if Hifonics today is still the Hifonics of 20+ years ago.

Just ran across a couple more Maxxsonic brand amps: Autotek Super Sport AT Series AT1000 & AT1500.

I'm sure there's no way they put out "MAXX" rated 1000w / 1500w running mono @ 4ohms, but could they output an actual 500w+??

From what I can tell, one uses two 30a fuses & the other uses two 40a fuses.

By my calculations, that's 864w / 1152w @ 14.4v if they're 100% efficient at maximum current draw.

Could these amps be 80% efficient?
