stock f150 audiophile system

my truck has this and i was wondering a few things. what all does the system include? how good is the system? and someone on here said something about if i get one cheap piece itll make the sub bump even better. and in the future if i wanna upgrade a system, can i run subs off stock unit? and what subs would be good for me? i dont listen to much rap, mostly country and rock. i like the thump of the bass but i dont want it to rattle my truck apart or anything. i was thinkn 1 12 alpine type s or rockford fosgate punch 12, or 2 10" alpine s or punchs. what amp would suit my needs as well?

Usually those systems mean better door speakers and maybe a sub but I"m not sure is there is a sub in the F150. You could run subs off of the stock head unit but it would be easier and better to run them off of an aftermarket unit. For subs you will do just fine with one 10" Alpine or Rockford with one of their amps.

Match the amp to the sub. If the sub says 400 watts RMS(continuous power) then set something that is close to that. Ohms is the resistance of the sub. The less ohms the more efficient they will work. 4 ohms is fine with a 4 ohm amp. Car stereo info: Learn about Car Audio & Video - Expert Reviews and Articles

Some companies like MTX and JL Audio make vehicle specific sub boxes with a sub and amp built into them. Crutchfield sells a few. Also there are companies that make vehicle specific boxes with nothing in them. Ford Subwoofer Boxes - Subwoofer Box | Subwoofer Enclosures | Car Subwoofer Boxes and Truck Subwoofer Boxes at SuperCrewSound The important thing with picking a sub and box is to match the internal volume to the specs of the sub.

ok. ic. so would you reccomend rockford or alpine? i like alpine for their units and speakers, but have never heard rockfords speakers and never owned subs period. im open to rockfords but i kinna wanna get alpine so that eventually i can have the alpine unit, speakers, sub, amp all to match and work together better.

in the alpine systems, which is better in subs? type E, R, S, or X? and would you reccomend a power pack for the head unit? says it amps the headunit power 150%. head unit i want is like 300 from a local shop w/ a remote and ipot cable.

are subs and all the components hard to install? local shop charges an arm and a leg to install everything. parts like wiring harnesses are overpriced as well. where would you reccomend to get all the parts and the headunit bezel if i do it myself? and how do ik what i need to do the install? i got a couple friends who are big into systems and stuff so they should be able to help if i need it when the time comes. most is just plug and play isnt it?
