I have two of these 12" baby's pounding right now. I've had them for a few years now, as they were originally in my Shadow. I like them, plenty of boom boom, what else were they made for. No problems with mine after almost 6 years now.

Not all amps put out rated power.

Be easy on the gains...you only put as much power to the woof as you let it. If you only want 200w...you can put only 200w. Use a DMM to measure voltage.

IMO, I always try to have an overkill on my amp, stressing an amp IMO is very bad. Very bad for your electrical, your subs (clipping), etc. I would rather have a 1200 watts (pure clean power) on 1 10" sub than 1200 on 2 12's.

I had 1 10" type r on 1kw, the amp never even got warm.
Now I have the 2 12's, my amp is too hot to touch after a song of full tilt

Next time just buy 1 awesome sub. You'll spend the same money.

Like 1 18" MT...should be about 3-500 dollars...but the sound that comes out of it is amazing. Even 4 of those pioneers couldn't keep up.

IMO, do it once, do it right!!!
