Anything can be fixed, It is just how much effort you want to put into it.... Another thing is that you may put more money/effort into the repair than what you may want to. A good place to start is at www.partstore.com they may have exactly what you need. The big problem with consumer electronics is that sometimes there are proprietary part numbers and schematics that require the stuff to go back to the manufacturer. I had found that in my past experiences. (BOSE) However, you may also find that the whole display mask is readibly available and with the removal of a few screws voila, an easy fix. Lol, that would have been nice to know. But I thought you were trading the Alpine to Zach, well he was under that impression.
If its just the plastic piece, that may be easy to replace, but I doubt you want to tear the stock headunit apart if you are trading for it. I'd trade for one in perfect condition that doesn't require extra money and time to get to work right.
