1.5 cu. ft. Vented Reg. Cab Truck Box.

Ok, I started building my new box today. Going to post a few pics of the progress. About 1/3 done with it. I will be posting all the measurements for those that would like to build one on their own. Its going to be a very nice box. I thought I wouldnt lose any leg room, but looks like I will lose 1 click and the passenger will lose about 2, maybe 3. I dont have many people ride with me, so it doesnt matter.

Here are the progress pics. Nothing major. They wont get good until it actually starts coming together --

This is the before. This is how its been for about 5-6 months now.

With everything pulled out. No biggie.

So I could get exact measurements and get a real good idea of how the piece
of wood would sit in there, I cut Poster Board to fit in that spot. I did this
with each piece I cut.

This is the bottom of the box. The other piece is the back piece that will fit
under the lip that is under the window.

This shows the bottom of the box and the bottom back piece in place. Kind of
hard to see, but there is also a small strip up there that will cause the upper
portion of the back of the box to stick out some to make up for the lip under
the window. (sorry if what I just said is kind of confusing).

This is the pieces i listed above along with the two little back pieces that will
fit under the two back speakers, the front where the sub will mount, the
upper back portion that will sit over the lip of the back of the truck (it will run
just above the buttons in the carpet), and then a couple of scrap pieces I will
probably use to make the port.

This is all I have done now. Once the box is completed, there will be a small section cut out of the front of the box so that the center console can raise up and down without rubbing. The driver seat will sit all the way back against the box (but will still lose about 1 click). The sub is going to be located behind the passenger seat. The vent will be about 8" wide and will come up just behind the drivers head.

Hopefully I can work on it more tomorrow, but I have to fix the boss' daughter's computer in the morning and then take grandmother to doctor, so may be next weekend till I can work on it again.

Anyways, I will get more pics of it as I work on it. When I am done, I am going to post all the measurments for all the boards so you guys with standard cabs can make your own, if you want. This design would be good for 2 subs too, if you wanted to run a sealed box instead of ported.
