input on stock radio

does anyone know if there is an auxilary input in the back of the stock 09 rangers xlt radio. i want to put subs in but i don't want to have to buy a new radio as well that does have one.

nope. you can buy an adapter to do this though... ill try and get more info for you.

(pretty much any car audio shop has these too)

i would strongly recomend getting an aftermarket head unit though. It gives you much more control of the pre-amp outputs, EQ, and will sound much better.

What is that thing doing? There is nothing on the stock head unit for it to connect to.

I put two 12's in my '04 with a stock head unit. It was real easy, but was over 4yrs ago. I think I just jacked sound from my rear speakers and just found a constant hot wire to jack power for my (what the heck you call it line).

I don't think I ever even pulled my radio out of the dash.

Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it sounds like you are looking for something like this.




Scosche SLC4 Four-channel line output converter at Crutchfield.com

Super cheap too. Local audio shops around where I live are charging over $100 for similar products. Have a look around first.
