ipod and 6cd help

i just bought a 2002 ranger with a factory 6-cd changer, and i've got an ipod and i want to hook the ipod directly into the cd player but i doesn't have any aux inputs. the cd player has a place for 2 harnesses in the back but it only needs one for the car, whats the other one for? can any one tell me how to make it work!!

From what I've researched, there is NO options available for the factory CD6 and plugging in an iPod. If you have a CD6 with a cassette deck, you can go that route. Otherwise, you're screwed. Don't waste the money on those FM transmitters.

I use a USA Spec interface unit for the 6CD for our year. It's about $70 if I recall and it works great. It plugs into the external changer -- however you can't CONTROL the Ipod that way. I just feed the audio from my non-iPod MP3 player into the RCA's on the USA Spec unit.

It certainly works with the 6CD with no cassette -- I'm using it.

I'll have to check out that one. Can't believe I missed that one. All the ones I saw, specifically said the Ford CD6 is not compatable.

I bought mine at Circuit City. It works great but it lacks gain. You'll have to turn your iPod pretty much up all the way most likely. If it's still not loud enough, I can change the gain of the internal preamp, which is what I did with mine. It's just a matter of putting in a couple of resistors jumping across some ones in there already.
