If you are happy with the OEM sound as a lot of the Ranger owners are then this is something to consider.
Most of us will never put a Multidisc changer in our truck so lets use the port.
I will add, if you get some extra cash up grade the speakers.
I took a set of speakers from an Expo Sport with a Pioneer 6=CD setup, yes I took it all but no amp, I installed the front component speakers and the rears but not the deck, a lot of people ask about my tunes when I have the iPod connected, you can hear a lot of stuff that wasn’t there before.
I like it !

I have a 2008 ranger sport 4x4 and i have a harness that plugs into the 20 pin connector, but I have a single disc head unit and I do not see any amps or dis changers anywhere in the vehicle.
the new head unit I bought, if I leave this harness unplugged (as there is only a 16 pin harness adapter in the kit i bought) i should be ok, right?
