a sealed small box will hit tighter and sharper then a ported or vented box. I found that ported or vented delievers louder deeper bass but not as clean. i had a solo baric l5 10 in the kicker hatch back vented box and it blew my mind but a buddy has one in a sealed box and his is tighter and sharper sounding then mine was. Isnt the cvt rated at 400 rms? On all kicker speakers the sens. is low (like 87 or so on most it think) and it takes more power to get them to sound right...

Another thing, i think the cvts are dual voice coil but not sure, if so check what ohm they are wired in...less ohms the more power getting to the speaker

The CVR is a DVC. the cvt is only an SVC(single voice coil). I've got a 10 cvt in a small sealed truck box and it is very clean. It hits plenty hard, and it is clean which was my main goal cause I was pairing it with my amplified speakers. Also it's rms is 400 watts at 2 ohms so if you got the 2 ohm woofer see if you can't find a cheap 400.1 amp you'll appreciate it. I've had bad luck with underpowering subs so be careful if you stay with the 300.1

I have the same sub and probably the same box. I have a 750.2 Lightning Audio amp pushing mine and it sounds awesome. Here is a pic.

ya mine is a single voice coil and its 2 ohms, i bet i would see a difference with another hundred watts rms to it...but i do agree it has a nice crisp sound to it....but im big on the whole people can here me coming thing...i just want to get the most out of the sub...so do you guys think i should go with a 400 watt rms amp...(ne suggestions) and then a ported box if i want louder bass and the box i have if i want crisp bass? thanks again

I had the P3001 and I believe it was rated on the birth sheet at 383 watts rms. So your actually not far off. I pushed 2 200 watts rms subs with it just fine.

i would go with alicker 400x1. I think it pushes 485rms, but the rule of the thumb is its better to over power the sub then to run the amp at full blast too...
