Need some Help with hooking up new system

Well today my was a day of good deals. My friend bought a 150 Woofer and box assembly for 5$, so i bought his old 200$ system, minus the amp, for 10.

Theyre cheap woofers, but i need a new system, since my stock one seems to quiet down after about a half minute of the song. it goes from almost full, to about half, for no reason that i can see other than to protect the speakers.

So i need help with this=
Speakers-want a good pair since i listen to metal, i want to be able to hear the guitar solos and the singer.
Amp- i need an amp, but prolly not more than 500 watts. i dont want a super powerful bass blaster, just sumthing to make my songs louder.
My subs are Sony Xplod's, which are pretty cheap but i think theyll get the job done. ill prolly just use one, since listening to metal on a big bass system is kinda stupid i think.
New Stereo- this im not sure about, since my friend told me i need to replace the stocker just for amp control and that kinda thing.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY- i dont want to spend more than 200 for all of it. i can build the boxes myself and do the wiring with help from a friend.

Any help is appreciated

Type-S co-axials are great for the price.

eBay and Audio-Forum for sale sections are a good place to start for good amps on the cheap.

You will probably want to scrounge eBay for all of it, really. 200 is going to be a hard number to hit for an amp, speaker, and CD player.

Oh and bass on metal is great, just not TOO much. Kick drums and bass guitars are enhanced a LOT if you have good bass.
