Speaker help

I have a Kicker 10" CVT 800 watts max/400 watts RMS and I have a Rockford 1000 watt amp. My question is can I hook this amp up to the kicker and have the power set real low without blowing the speaker?

On the bottom of the amp it says 275 watts RMS x 2 set at 4ohms with less than 0.05%THD (whatever that means) at 20-20 KHZ. The speaker is wired for 4 ohms
