help with sound system

hey guys ive been tryin to get a nice system goin in my truck for a while now and since money is permiting now i going to get a sub and amp for it
i was thinking of getting this sub
Kenwood KFC-W3514DVC Subwoofers
powered by this amp
Kenwood KAC-8104D Amp: Mono
now im kinda a newb at this so please tell me if these will work together well
btw i will be building my own custom box

can't say how it will sound, but i havent had any problems with my kenwood sub and amp. they hit pretty hard. i have a different sub and amp then you, but im pretty hard on my system and have had no problems

Looks good to me I would order it from here though, 3 year warranty instead of just 30 days

i once had that amp, didn't like it very much on my kickers but that was then, its a good little amp for what it is but dont expect too much out of it, look over on caraudio.com in their classifieds

im not tryin to go deff or anything but enough to hear down the block ya know enough to actually feel the bass but not crakc the windshield
blake idk if it was the amp or your subs ive heard that some kickers just suck but idk what you had

another question what would be better a sealed or ported box
im thinkin sealed to save space
and where can you get the speaker wire connectors for the box?

well in our trucks sealed is fine, but if you wanna be heard down the street
go ported and with more watts...............

and radio shack has terminals...not the best but they have em.

k thanks sealed it is i just looked a the size the box would ave to be for ported and it takes up more room than id like

well i just ordered all of it should be here by the end of the week im gonna build a custom sealed box that fits where the jump seat goes ill have pics when installed

yea ive done systems b4 i used rockford fosgates wiring wizard and sub box wizard so i should be good to go and if i need anything else ill let you know

well the box is done just needs to be covered but ill wait till i get the sub for that
and i ended up getting a nicer amp
Kenwood KAC-8103D 1000W Class D Monoblock Amplifier
hopefully everything will be here by the end of the week i cant wait to hear it

i had the amp on 2 cvr's i wanna say, and my jl w3 was louder off a pepboys dual 300 watt amp so i dont think it was the subs as much as the amp, but then again maybe i'm just used to my rd alpha v2 now lol
