there are a few enclosures you can get, you will more than have to run thin subs like boston acoustics

i have a standard cab. i run the MTX thunderform. It is a little small, and low power compared to what some run, but it goes great in a tiny standard cab. It accents the music with bass, not drown you out blow your eardrums bass like some like.

I run a kicker Comp-VR 12" with a deep box. I just put it behind the passenger seat. My girl is only 5' 3" so she doesnt care about leg room, lol

You have a ton of options. Go look around on Crutchfield.

I love my jl but i would agree with grant on the mtx thunderform setup. it's very clean even in an extended cab in your regular cab it would sound awesome!

also pioneer makes some slim subs that sound almost identical to the jl

Honestly - quality sound is 75% amp, 25% sub - with a proper amp you can push a sub well beyond its competitors.. get yourself a 10" sub - as a 12" really isnt needed in our size cabs, and invest the money into a proper amp to power it.

Just hop on the net, head over to Crutchfield, and they have wiring guides - even videos - on how to do it. It really is very simple. Pair of RCA cables from your headunit to the amp as audio-in, 8/10/12 gauge to your sub from the amp. Power ran from the battery to the amp, and a ground.
