May be getting a small system

I might be getting some door speakers for the ranger soon. Heres what im looking at getting:

Speakers- http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_id=5240

Amp- http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_id=7632

Headunit- http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113MP34...DC-MP342U.html

Amp kit- http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142PA8/...it.html?tp=635

All together the total came to about $645. Tell me what you think and if I chose the right things and what not and if I left anything out.

Sounds like a plan, what speakers do you plan on running in the back?

You know that 6.5 inch speakers wont fit without a bit of modding right?

Just saying they wont bolt in. Not even a 5 1/4" speaker without an adapter.

Ok before you go buy all this stuff... be smart and SHOP around online. if you save $15 per item, that's a nice chunk of change to get something else for the truck.

for example:
http://www.google.com/products/catal...tle#ps-sellers

I wouldn't buy that el cheapo head unit. You are running a nice system and you'll want a nice Head unit. Why not get one with HD since everything is going to digital these days?

I prefer Pioneer head units... again don't buy from crutchfield and shop around online. it might take an extra day or 2 but you'll save a ton of money.

The 6.5's. The speakers come with 6x8 adapters so it should just be a matter of putting them in correct?

Are you sure its 6x8 adapters?

Edit: I see it now. It should bolt right in then. I would get some foam baffles to protect the speakers.

Components are only meant for the front, running them in the back is pointless. Just get some basic 6x8s for the back

Get an HD receiver. Look at Bestbuy.com or some other place. Crutchfield sucks. They are only showing dual and jensen for HD... blah.

HD is only good if you live in a big enough city that has it. And for those that don't even listen to the radio its not a big selling point

A plus side for buying from bestbuy is that my friends step-brother works there and gets things for like 65% off sometimes.

Thanks for that link trent. Whats wrong with buying from crutchfield? Why do they suck? The main reason i was going to buy from there was because they give you all the things you need to go ahead and put the headunit in where other places dont. You might have to pay a couple more dollars but in return you get everything you'll need. Right? Wrong?

And im not worried about buying an HD reciever. I hardly listen to the radio anyways. Most of the time its my ipod or cd's. I want one with a USB so i can charge my ipod while im listening to music and not have to worry about a car charger.

Yeah I buy from them and never had a problem. I don't mind paying a bit extra to buy from a quality company. Also I have noticed that their prices are the same as most other places.

Ive always heard great things from them. Thats one of the main reasons i want to buy the HU from there.

Thats true but if you price out how much it is for the wiring harness and everything else you would need to make it work it ends up costing more than what it would be to just go ahead and buy from crutchfield.

Do you have the stuck HU now? You can pick up the install kit and wiring harness from walmart for like 20 bucks for both, thats where I got mine from. You can get it on ebay for even cheaper but you have to wait for shipping.
