You have to make sure that the USB is a powered USB on the HU. If it isn't a powered USB then it dosen't charge the IPod.

Did a quick bit of thinking and decided... it doesnt matter if it charges it or not. Just as long as i dont have to look at my ipod to change the song. Which the one that you posted (trent) it does do that option so its a good one for me.

Now that i have everything picked out i need to convince my mom to buy it up front and let me make payments to her. I told her if she paid $500 id pay the rest up front then pay her the rest later and she sounded pretty cool with it over the phone. Luckily she's into sound quality nice speakers and things like that.

So STL doesnt have 6.5's in his doors. Just one in the center console and 6x8's in his doors. Oops. So I am still going to put the 6.5's in all four doors and amp them at 125w at 2 Ohms. I think it will sound fairly clean. Im not going for bass as much as i am it being clear and basically just not sounding like crap.

Don't put components in the back, thats stupid. Components are on meant for the front. Just get the Alpine 6x8s

How is it stupid? If I'm not mistaken BMW, Audi, and Mercedes run separates in the back doors.

Yes but they also have a back seat. Since there would be no one back there listening the 6x8s would be fine.

Those 6.5" are way to much for the doors IMO unless you want alot of rattle

You can always get sound deadening material but the good stuff is not cheap

I've got 6.5"s in my doors with only 1 square foot of dynamat, they sound beautiful, with no rattle. Also I fit them in with no trimming, and made my own mounting bracket out of mdf.

IMO components are unneccessary for the rear. I have my rear speakers shut off in my ext. cab. Put the money into good front comps.
