The Mods begin.

Well, have all of the stereo for my Colorado. Just posting some pics of what is going in. Will post some install pics and completed pics later.

All the wires and dash kit and sub box are in the truck. Will get pics of it when we do the install tonight.

I had the 9845 in my Ranger, so I am sure that is very close to the 9847. I just wanted the possibility of XM or Sirius down the road.

Ok, got it installed and learned my lesson. I think.

Box, I am told by the guy that did the install, is too big. I have to turn the bass up alot just to get 'normal' bass from the sub.

At first he thought the amp was too small, but that Amp is recommended on the Alpine site running 2 ohms to the sub I have, so I wouldnt think its the amp under powered.

So, going to check out a 1.25 cu. ft. ported box tomorrow. This is down from the 1.8 it is in now.

I will post pics tomorrow of the install. I was helping doing alot of this, so I didnt stop and take pics of every step. I just kind of took a few in the middle and at the end.

Doors going in. You can see the crossover bolted to the door. Tweets are in the door panels - no pics:

Only got one of the rear door. They were easy, so no biggy:

Deck going in. This was alot faster than thought it would be:

Amps going in:

.................................................. .................................................. ............

Rest of the pics should be completed pics, but im not exactly complete. The much needed rain we got today stopped me from building the amp rack. It will be plain wood at first, until I decide whether I am going to keep the carpet on the box or scrape it off and use vinyl that matches the interior. If i do vinyl, I will also vinyl the amp rack. If not, then carpet.

As for the sound, we just had to play with the amps. Finally got the Gain correct on both amps and got the crossovers adgusted so that the right sound is going to the right speaker. It hits VERY hard. Windows actually flex a little when they are rolled down about 3 inches. This thing is 100 times louder than my Ranger and so much clearer. I am very pleased with the system, just need to complete the interior work.

I already have the box. Its already carpeted. Probably gunna skin it and put some vinyl on it when i can catch it on sale. Same with the amp rack.
