Well the new season is quickly arriving. :) As a lot of yall know, i had a few problems with the 8s in the truck. The best score 151.5 at 36hz with 12 8s. Its time to get louder for this season. This build will start in about 2 weeks or so. Im just posting a build log to get everyone interested. :) :)

New setup equipment to start with
4-Sundown SA 15s
2-Sundown SAZ 2500s
4 Powermaster d3100s

Box
Around 12 cubes
160 sq inches of port
Tuned to 35hz

Heres a sketchup for the box. Port is across the top. I think this will be the most musical.

Well I havnt never messed with any of the SSA subs so i couldnt tell you much about them.

RangOH Nov 29, 2010 04:15 PM

What are you using to make your box calculations and how are you getting your needed port area? Doesn't that get tricky when using multiple subs in the same chamber?

For my wall, im just using pencil and paper to draw it up and calculate everything. But for regular ported or sealed boxes, i use a calculator called Torres Calculator.

edge2k Nov 30, 2010 07:28 AM

Those amp inputs are just waiting for a wrench, paperclip or something metal to fall between them lol, they look good though.

RangOH Nov 30, 2010 10:51 AM

That's funny the guy who made the Torres Calculator, Chris Is actually buddy's with a few of my friends. and basically family to my brother in-law. I thought I knew that name. small world.

Well i did some calculations this weekend and it turns out i will not be able to do a vertical clamshell. :( It would come out to 6 cubes before bracing and sub displacement on each side. So here is the final design. A regular flat wall. :( Im not too happy with it but o well. It turned out to be 7 cubes per side with a 32.25x5 port. I thought about recessing the whole baffle back 1" to gaing some seat room. That will leave me 6.6 cubes for each side before sub and bracing displacement.

Heres the box.
