LOL this thread is full of Scangauge guys "I like my ****ty screen and paying 4 times as much". Seriously reading volts? The most useless piece of information you could need.

It's hilarious anyone would pay 150+ for this POS and even act like the screen as anything is in comparison.

scott, does it allow for the mpg to be switched for us canuks? (L/100kms or km/L)

also, since it gets its power from the obd2 port does it turn off when you turn off the vehicle?

Mine does not stay on when I turn the key off. It turns off. Also, don't know how the hell you bent that mount, that thing is pretty solid. I just have mine sitting in the cupholder because I couldn't use the window mount.

IT looks similiar as hell. I forgot to put the 2 in and was like "****, they're the exact same thing". Apparently the company forgot to include a screen in their lil plastic box. Just 2 lines that looks like its a device made in the early 90s.

email update about the metric status:

hi there, i am interested in ordering 1 maybe 2 units and was curious if you have implemented the metric software or conversion yet. your website says late 2010 or early 2011. if it's not done and you decide to end the rebate or adjust the price of the ultra gauge is there anyway you can guarantee a price freeze?

i like this product and i showed it to my mom and got her opinion for a gift for my step dad. however, we are in canada and need the metric.

thanks

matt.

Matt,

The development of the Metric version is still progressing. While It has not completely been decided, the latest thinking is that a new version of UltraGauge will be released, one that not only supports Metric but includes a significant number of enhancements. The current version will continue to be offered as well. The new version will likely command a premium over the current version of roughly $10-$15. Look for a February release.

Best Regards,
UltraGauge pre-sales support

I see a ton of posts that I love my ultragauge because it's so cool, so nice, displays lots of info, great price... not once have I seen someone say "I love my ultragauge because it's so accurate?" no one will ever like a ScanGauge because it's pretty but it is very accurate

Lots of owners on here now how's the accuracy? Only thing I've seen was an owner happy because he's getting 37mpg around town with a 4L Ranger

No metric is a show stopper for me for right now but no doubt the next version will have that taken care and I'd consider an upgrade from my scangauge II if the accuracy is good.

I've got a scan gauge II and while it isn't as ugly as the antique version being posted it forsure isn't as nice looking as the ultraguage and price on the ultra is amazing

although looks wise for the scangauge I do like the fact I can match the display color and brightness exactly to the rest of the green displays in my truck... a blue screen glow in an all green lite truck might not be perfect... but ultragauge is pretty

I see posts on ultra does everything the scangauge does but I don't see where it does Transmission Fluid Temperature, Converter Speed Ratio, Fuel Level % in tank(actual from sensor Rangers have not estimate remaining on usage), Transmission Gear ratio. Not really big things but I like the trans temp and gear/converter ratio when towing.

There's no accuracy issues with the ultragauge...Is there somewhere you're getting this disinformation from? I remember a guy posted a video showing that it updates quickly and accurately. I haven't used mine once while driving actually, it's just a toy. My truck runs fine and the last thing I need is a $150 instrument that tells me that. Waste of money.

It would be kind of hard to prove it's accurate. Its more of trusting that it is, I don't think anyone has any reasons to think it is not accurate.

Very easy to check... fill the tank and mark it full in the gauge and also mark down your mileage then next time you fill up divide miles to gallons and compare to what the gauge thinks. Even easier the gauge should say how many gallons is needed for the fill so could compare that to actual gas purchased.

I did a few searches and found good reviews for checking the accuracy and gives very favorable review to the accuracy of the UltraGauge :) they get metric added and maybe even color changes and it'll be upgrade time for me.

Oh I thought you were talking about the entire thing being accurate, with the updates and such. Not the mileage

Glad to see another happy ultra gauge owner. I love mine.

If anyone is interested my review is here Ultra Gauge Review

The only thing I feel is inaccurate is the DTE and fuel consumption but I have noticed mine seems to be correcting itself the longer I drive

The mount was super easy to bend, that's the way it's designed.

For the price, you can't beat it.

Whoever said out trucks have a fuel sensor I don't think that's right. We have a float. Someone please verify this.

Yeah it's only a float in the tank that give % of fuel ramianing or fuel % level in the tank remaining sent available on obd2

I just ordered mine a few hours ago, and I couldn't be more excited to get it! Not for sure where I'm going to mount it yet, but I'll figure it out. As for me, I did a lot of research into both before I made my decision, and I really like the ultra-gauge a lot better, but I will reserve judgement until it gets here. Also, $76.61 shipped to my doorstep?! No complaints there!
