Don't put the top on all the way, leave it to the side a bit but in reality, they should be fine even with the top on all the way completely covering them. I know what you mean about the whole if you can't see it, it isn't there there, I have an indash so I can remove it so when I'm in class I windows all the way up, I have pretty deep tint on the windows, and I have my sun reflector up, even if its not sunny out just to make it darker and harder to see in.

I was just thinking about it, did you hook up both those subs to the same amp or both those amps going to each sub?/

bolth of the subs run off the JL Amp its an http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=402

The A4300 bridged and at 4ohms for each sub...it pushes them with no problem..the other crap sony was given to me for free by a friend..thats wired to the other speakers..
