Possibly Updgrading Speakers + Sub?

Ok, once I get my center console installed Im going to want to upgrade my speaker system but I have no knowledge of the stuff (I had to have my brother install the headunit he gave me)

I was just wondering what would make my sound be more "clean", I dont really listen to music that has a lot of bass nor do I listen to it loud. I mean every know and then I tend to rock out but not every week/day. My brother recommended maybe a 10" subwoofer and replacing the factory speakers in the truck.

But I kinda dont wanna go over more than $400 for everything, I was looking at some RF 6x8's 2-way for $128 I could replace the existing speakers (I think) but thats all I really understood after reading around here. I don't know subs or amps or capacitors or any of that fancy stuff.

Any input would be nice. Thanks fella's.

putting in a quality mid/high range speaker without an amp is pointless. I personally like polk for mids/high or boston. Little pricey but worth it. On a budget I would go with the RF and get a decent 4 channel amp to power them. You need not a capacitor unless you are running serious power.,.
theres my 2 cents

Hi, when you get ready - start with headunit - first - them amp - then sub
last change speakers- to Be honest- Speakers are the least important to change

I used to install stereos for Years, and if you get a good amp - that make the Biggest difference..

if anything- just door speakers.

Reviving the Deat post

Ok, I think I found a sub that would work for my little truck if I got a box that fits behind/between the seats, Im looking at the Rockford Fosgate P3SD410,

10" Shallow mount subwoofer
4-ohm Dual voice coil
300 watts RMS / 600 watts Peak power™

Now, from what I understand the RMS is an important factor on how clean it will hit?
Also, what should I be looking for in an amp too? Am I looking to match the 300 watts RMS or go over? Keep in mind I was looking at the Punch 6x10's which are at 60 watts RMS. So would I get an amp with 540 watts RMS total, and how many output thingys (great termanology but I forgot what they're called) would I need?

Thanks in advance

i have the Rockford... in a 12.. dude.. do it.. you wont regret it.. its awesome.. you can still use your seats too.. if you go with a shallow box.. it will just sit under the fold out seats.. totally worth it.. I run mine in a huge box though and i hit hard.. my whole system was.. 1300 though.. but you can get that sub online for like 150 and a good amp online for like 200..

Hmm so you could do 2 of those.. and mount the flush behind the seats and probably also be fine.. but i recommend rockford for amp and sub..

yea.. but I only want 1, I don't need it to hit loud and whatnot but just a clean crisp nice sound. I don't really run around down with my truck rattling. That and I don't listen to Rap and stuff that are all beats. Also, I still need to know how big of amp Im looking for

Well Rockford makes a P300-1 amp and it runs RMS 412 Watts which is perfect for it. And one 10.. should sound fiine.. those rockfords hit way nice and are fairly clear..

Door speakers.. i run infinity Kappas in my doors and i love them.

now if I get door speakers and want to amp them would I run them off of that? and how so would I go about doing it? since I thought that the speakers just got 2 wires one from the HU and one to ground.

I think most head units can power speakers but some people believe in amps.. i dont.. but hmmm i would call about that amp to see if it will.. i know it will run two subs.. but im not sure about subs and speakers.

Ok, heres a question, would I need 4 replacements with the speakers or just 2? can you really hear the back speakers if you had a sub?

Crutchfield is like the most expensive but they have GREAT tech support

I've bought like 8 speakers and a stereo from eBay, just make sure everything is new in the box.
