need door speaker recommendations!
 

hey guys, well anyone that knows me knows music is my life, and well i like it really loud(always jammin my country music!) and my factory door speakers are sick(they sound like $hizznit sometimes) and im looking for some speakers that will directly replace my factory ones, and that i can use the same wires for, and that will scream(i got a subwoofer also) and just something that can go really really loud w/o distortion and make my ears bleed! i will not buy sony products, i like pioneer and the such, so please, let me know what you know about them, and what you have/experienced in door speakers on factory h/u's

If you want to stick with your factory size I would get Alpine type S 5x7s. Very clean sounding. Alpine also has a type S 5x7 component system.

The ONLY way to get what you want is to properly power them, i.e. aftermarket 2 or 4 channel amplifier. If you are willing to drop a grand total of $500-600 for a pair of speakers and a quality amp...then I suggest Polk MOMO MMC570s for direct drop-ins that will be AWESOME for country (or any other music), very musical, and scream with proper power. I use a JL 300/4 on them, but a decent Alpine amp would do the trick too.

If you are keeping the stock radio and just replacing the speakers then this is what you need to look for:

High efficiency, low sensitivity: This is rated in dB. The higher the louder it is.

Low RMS range speaker. Your stock radio probably puts out anywhere from 12 to 20 watts RMS per channel. So look for a speaker with a RMS rating as close to that as you can get. It won't be easy, but it can be done.

Adapters. If you order from a place like Crutchfield.com, they'll throw them in for free. They allow you to hook up after market speakers without cutting any stock wiring. I also have a set that you can have to 5 bucks plus shipping if you buy off ebay. Or you can just cut into the stock wiring which definitely is not as bad as it sounds.

I had good experience with a 2 pairs of Polk EX368's running off the CD6.

Alpine type S. Best friend elliott has them. He Had inifiniti's but when he got the cut through with 2 10's in a wave box, you couldn't even hear the infiniti's on an 800 watt amp. So he got alpine type S's and they are nice and loud but very very clear/crisp.

dam thats some big little speakers Channing! well i have the CD6, so i guess i'll either go with the Polk EX368's or the Alpine type S's, because i really dont feel like running more wires for a powered system, as much as i want one, plus im broke right now

NO speakers will SCREAM and be crystal clear without external power. But Polks are the best alternative. Go with the Polks.

Actually good luck finding the same polk's I have. They are discontinued, but maybe still on e-bay? You can get the smaller EX357's for dirt cheap on crutchfield.com

Best to head down to a radio store, and find a speaker 5.25 or 6x8 speakers with 90+ db sensitivity and a RMS rating as close to 20 watts as you can get. And of course you should be able to listen to them there, before buying cheap online...

i have a set of cheap pioneers in the front doors i think they sound pretty good... but would definatly like to get some external power and better front speakers someday
