NEED HELP ON SUB STUFF

I am looking to put some subs in my extended cab i was think of putting two smaller boxes that will fit under my jump seats when they are folded down. Since i will have smaller boxes would it sound better to have two 8 inch subs or to have two 12 or 10s. Also what brands are good i just want them to be able to hit the quick hits but i really like the long drawn out bass hits

Size really does matter...12s are better than 8s. If money isn't tight, get the ones customized to do exactly what you want from Thunderforms.

No one will be able to get in the back seats without stepping on the subs. Just an FYI.

quality vs quantity... high end stuff will sound and perform better then cramming in more lower quality equipment. if you can, try out different box configurations for what you have and choose something that works for you. different sizes/shapes of boxes will effect the sound quality.

and like mentioned above, you start putting stuff under your jump seats, you loose the ability to have anyone in the back. i took out my driver side jump seat so i could mount my sub box inside the opening to keep things clean in the back.

just go with one 10" woofer in a single box. place it behind the passenger seat and be done with it. that way you still have 1 jump seat for passengers. hell, its what i did.

I built a custom box for a 12" sub that took up the area under one of the jump seats. It still allowed for the jump seat to go down and I didn't have to remove anything. From the sound of it, one 12" sub could give you all the bass you need, all you have to do is create a box that will be the correct dimensions for the sub and the jump seat.

i just bought the mtx 10inch shallow mount sub, the manufacture's recommended box dimentions (exterior) is 15x19.5x6.5, made out of 3/4 mdf the dimentions under the rear passenger seat in our extended cabs, with the passenger seat all the way back, is 16x21x7... coincidence?

Pics aren't the best, but this is what I did. Retains full use of the jump seats and the factory cup holders. Installed is an 8" JL running on an Alpine 4ch amp. Sounds great for what I use it for.

like you really need cupholders or seats in the back.... pull it all and just dedicate the space to one massive sub enclosure that when fully powered will displace internal organs of pedestrians and occupants alike, set off seismic tremors felt in nearby cities and make small children cry....
