Need IPOD help

I have a Pioneer AVIC-N4 in my truck. I recently decided to add an Ipod as a backup to my CD changer. The adds for the N-4 all said it was Ipod compatible. This isn't entirely true. It's compatible with SOME Ipods. I purchased the 120 gig Ipod classic. When I plugged it into my N-4 I got an error message. I called Pioneer and was told my Classic will work with the new N-5 but not my N-4. After more than a weeks worth of research and countless phone calls to Pioneer, I've finally found out that the only Ipods that will work with my N-4 are the older 30 & 60 gig "GEN 5" and older models. I called Apple, only to find they no longer make this model. They also no longer carry refurbished models. The tech at Apple suggested I try getting a used one on Ebay or from a merchant that carried rebuilt or refurbished Mac products. She suggested MacWorld.com. My problem, I'm not knowledgeable enough to buy a used Ipod on Ebay and be sure I'm getting the correct model. When I looked at the MacWorld web site I couldn't find any Ipods, or any other Mac products for that matter, for sale. Only magazines. So what I need to know is do any of you guys know where I can get a rebuilt or refurbished "Gen. 5" Ipod? I need to buy from a store/web site that has a tech support department and a return policy. Just in case I get the wrong model again. So how about it guys. Anyone have any web sites they know about? Thanks.

Good deal, yeah Apple changed the pinout on all of their models after that year. Then they just changed again for the new iPhones/iPod Touches which screwed me over, my FM transmitter won't charge my new Touch. I had one of the 5.5 gen 60gb but some scumbag stole it when I was in the shower last year.

I am sure u want to use ur new deck. however u could always hook the ipod directly to your amps (if you have some iam not sure). Thats how i did it for my last truck and it worked great since the amps were hidden under the seat, in order to steal it you would have to take the seat out. I replaced the deck with gauges and a switch to turn the amp on, pretty slick and cheap..... iam sure u want to use ur deck though.....

Then he would have wasted all that money on the deck, that doesn't make sense.

Well I've been out bid on 2 so far. Can anyone give me some guidance on what one of these things is worth? I paid $250, including shipping, for my brand new 120GB Classic. These things are 2-3 years old, with 30-60GB and seem to be going for $140 plus/minus a bit, plus $10-20 for shipping. Does that sound about right for one of these units? Or do you think I should wait until after Christmas and try again. I'm thinking $125 total, plus or minus a bit.
