generally, you want them pointing at the driver. placing them, however, depends on what other equipment you have to tune your system. most people put them in the doors, with the tweeter right at the point where the side mirrors are. then there are some that have them down in kick panels, along the floor.

i have mine like this- my 6.5 woofer is in the door, in stock location, with a slight angle upwards (i mean very slight.. not really noticeable at all) i have my tweeters mounted in the dash, up near the windshield in that black dash piece that has the vents for the windshield defroster. once i got them in place, i had to tweek everything. i was able to use the glass as a reflection point pretty easily, and set my stage from there.

I got a question that has always on my mind when thinking about tweeters. How many tweeters is overkill? I was thinking the dash thing, and then some in the door neear mirrors or on the a-piller.

well what im going to do is keep my polk audio door speakers in the door because they have great tweeters with them. i dont need the "bass door speaker? because i dont any bass out of the door spearkers because i have the 2 12" subs. so all in all im going to have 6 tweeters total in my truck. just to give you an idea.

To me the key to a great system is the clearity! any body can just go bumping down the road. now with someones who's is clear, loud, and bumps, then "my god" you've got something!!!!

What did you use to drill the holes in that piece? one of those "up-side down cup" drill bits?

lol, yes, one of those up-side down cup bits. first i marked the center, then took a 2" hole bit and drilled it out.

and if you wanna be specific about clarity when it comes to music.. the less speakers, the better. it's all about staging with no more than a pair of speakers for accuracy. then again, you'll find a million different opinions on that, so...

right, look for the sensitivity rating and such when it comes to speakers. rms ect. just you want overall a good product. but the more speakers you hook up the less amount of power you will have "pending on how you hhok them up"

two tweeters are enough, more speakers dont generally mean better sound.

a good point for mounting tweets are in a place to reflect off the windshield, at least a few people who compete in the SQ comps told me...cant say if its true or not.

just make sure u set the sound stage properly, focus on the tweets because bass travels more then highs.
