kicker (opinions needed)
alright, so I sold my type r's and now I want to move on to bigger and better things. right now, I have two alpine mrp m1000w amps. I really want to stuff as much bass behind my seats as I can.. (extended cab). I have several choices, and I want some opinions on which you guys think would be best, coolest, loudest, etc
idea 1: 6 12" kicker comps, with a custom wall
idea 2: 3 12" kicker l5's, with a custom box
idea 3: 2 12" kicker l7's, with a custom box
my friend has a 12" l5, and wants an l7. but, I keep reading that you really won't notice the difference between the l7 and the l5 unless you can tell the difference between 1-3 db's. I'm not doing this for a competition, more of just to have what everyone else doesn't, in this small town I call home lol. if its as good as I want it to be, I'll def consider competitions. but for now, I'm really just trying to figure out what to get. I'm confused. and have been stuck on more than these 3 ideas for a week. also, I was considering 15's, but, I'm not sure I want to venture to 15's in a square, heard they react pretty slow.
thanks, zak.

its an older MTX thunder 502. dont remember the exact output but i want to say its somewhere around 500-600 RMS the way i have it wired. its been a long time since ive messed with it. the L7's need alot of power to perform so dont cheap out on the amp and make sure you match the amp to whatever OHM load you will be running in the speaker.

whats the RMS wattage though? peak wattage isnt as imprortant to look at as the RMS rating and at what OHM it puts out the most RMS and if it needs to be bridged to reach that.

that should be plenty. when i got my sub it was rated at 300 RMS per voice coil (dual voice coil) and i believe it was 1200 watts peak, so just pay attention to what OHM sub you get. also mines a few years old so the power ratings might have changed.

2 12" L7's are going to be stupid loud in a ranger. what type of box are you going to build for them?

thinking a massive sealed box. my friend has a small sealed box with his l5 and hates it, but doesn't like his ported box either. so he's building a bigger sealed and gonna let me know how it is.. so I'm leanin towards a big sealed box, built for two subs, but with one in it for the time, till next month. suggestions? also, wanna suggest speakers? lol.

i was in the same boat, i had a sealed box at first and didnt like it so i switched to a ported box and i like it better, its now hits harder but wont go as low. i guess its a trade off. my only concern with a ported box with your setup will be the size. to have two 12" L7's ported, the box is going to have to be pretty large.
